Vodafone Ukraine mobile communications operator is ready for testing 5G mobile communication, the company’s press service has told Interfax-Ukraine.

“It is good that Ukraine is synchronized with the rest of the world and does not lag behind other countries in an effort to use the most modern technologies,” the company said.

The press service said that Vodafone is technologically ready for the introduction of the next generation communication. In a number of countries 5G is being tested, and in the U.K. Vodafone is already launching a full-fledged 5G network for private users in commercial operation. “In Ukraine, we are also preparing for testing, in particular, in April we launched the first in Ukraine section of the smart road based on the 4G network, and in the second half of the year we plan to test its work at 5G speeds,” the press service said, stressing that the operator will be able to talk about the timing and details of the introduction of the next generation communication only after the details of the relevant presidential decree become known.

As reported, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree on the provision of services for the implementation of the 5G mobile communication system.

Kyivstar said that the costs of implementing 5G in Ukraine can pay off for decades.
