The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is debating a bill on Tuesday that would enable MPs who are suffering from illness to vote remotely.
The Servant of the People party of President Zelensky, the largest faction in the Ukrainian parliament, says the need for such changes arose after an increasing number of MPs contracted the coronavirus but who were well enough to participate remotely.
According to the proposed legislation, MPs participating remotely would show their votes by holding up a card, indicating their decisions on laws being considered by the parliament.
To ensure transparency, all remote participants voting records would be recorded on video, a Servant of the People party spokesperson said.
