The number of Ukrainians fully vaccinated against COVID-19 has passed 1 million, the Ministry of Health reported on July 8.
Another 1.1 million Ukrainians have received just their first dose. Two doses are required to be fully vaccinated.
In the past 24 hours, 104,680 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 in Ukraine; 42,029 people received their first dose and 62,651 people received their second.
So far, Kyiv leads the country by number of vaccinations. On July 7, residents of the capital received 20,032 doses. In total, 437,031 Kyivans have received the vaccine.
Vaccination in Ukraine began on Feb. 24. Recently, on June 23, Ukraine has started the fourth stage of the campaign, inoculating people over 60 years old, prisoners and staff of penitentiaries and pretrial detention centers, as well as people aged 18 to 59, who have chronic diseases.
Ukraine currently vaccinates people with Pfizer, Sinovac, and AstraZeneca vaccines. On July 5, Ukraine authorized the Johnson & Johnson vaccine for use.
So far, Ukraine has received over 5 million doses of vaccines against COVID-19, the Ministry of Health announced on July 5. Nearly 8 million doses are expected by the end of July.
