Russian-backed separatists have opened fire on the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces 37 times over the past 24 hours, killing one Ukrainian soldier and wounding three more, the press center of the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) headquarters has reported.
“Russian invaders opened fire on the positions of our troops 37 times. At the same time, the separatists used weapons banned by the Minsk agreements nine times […] One soldier of the Joint Forces was killed and three were wounded during the hostilities,” the JFO HQ said in a report on its Facebook page early on October 16.
Over the past day, separatists fired at Ukrainian positions near Krymske, Katerynivka, Stepne, Troitske, Luhanske, Svitlodarsk, Novoluhanske, Avdiyivka, Pisky, Nevelske, Maryinka, Berezove, Stepne, Starohnativka, Chermalyk, Pavlopil, Hnutove, Talakivka, Vodiane. Lebedynske, and Shyrokyne.
According to Ukrainian intelligence, two separatists of illegal armed groups were killed and six more were injured in the past day.
