Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman has said that the Cabinet of Ministers will envisage Hr 56 billion, or $2 million, for road construction in 2019.
“Next year, we will allocate 56 billion hryvnias for road construction,” he said at a government meeting in Kyiv on Sept. 12.
In particular, Hr 17 billion ($605 million) will be allocated for repairs of local roads, and over Hr 2 billion ($71,000) to road safety projects (barriers, crosswalks, etc.).
“Seventy-five percent of the total excise, which comes from the fuel, will be spent on the roads,” Groysman added.
The planned road construction budget for 2019 exceeds that of 2018 by 17 percent, according to Groysman.
