A lieutenant colonel of Ukraine’s Armed Forces heard the sentence in his state treason case; the district jury in Kharkiv, northeastern Ukraine, ruled that the defendant will be imprisoned for 13 years.
According to the military prosecutor’s office press service, the sentence was announced on May 10. The officer will be stripped of his military rank; he was judged under two articles of Ukraine’s criminal code (state treason and hurting the law enforcer; the defendant resisted arrest and used brute force).
