Thirty-five Ukrainians were injured in a road accident in a small city of Mugla in southwestern Turkey on Sept.13, when a bus carrying tourists collided with a bus carrying students.

The 54-year-old driver of the tourist bus, a Turkey native, lost control of the vehicle after having a heart attack, and died on the scene, several Turkish media reported. The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m.

In total, 49 people were injured in the accident.

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Oleg Nikolenko said that the 35 Ukrainians are being treated for injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

“There is nothing life-threatening,” Nikolenko said on his Twitter page.

The Ukrainian consulate in Antalya is cooperating with Turkish law enforcement agencies to find out all the circumstances of the accident. The Ukrainian side contacted the tour operator and the insurance company, which should cover the costs of treatment.

The bus with the Ukrainian tourist was on a trip from Bodrum to Denizli in Turkey.
