The State Emergency Service of Ukraine continues carrying out the operations to help the locals and clean up the flooding aftermath in western regions.

“As of July 6, five residential locations (349 at the beginning) in Chernivtsi region are still flooded,” the emergency service said.

In addition, 14 cellars (7,225 at the beginning), including eleven in Ivano-Frankivsk and three in Ternopil regions, 47 housing plots, including 38 in Chernivtsi, seven in Ternopil and two in Ivano-Frankivsk regions, are still flooded as of today.

A total of 202.5 kilometers of roads (280 kilometers at the beginning) in Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Lviv regions and 95 bridges, including 93 in Ivano-Frankivsk, one in Lviv and one in Chernivtsi regions, are destroyed.

Some 549 kilometers of roads (654 kilometers at the beginning) and 213 bridges (266 at the beginning) in Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi and Lviv regions are damaged.

The State Emergency Service has rescued 478 people, evacuated 721 people, resettled 1,324 people and helped 2,565 people to cross the flooded road sections since the start of the flood-clean-up operations.

The emergency service pumped out 3,000 cubic meters of water, cleared 520 meters of roads and 370 meters of river beds from debris, delivered 5 tonnes of drinking waters to the locals on July 5.

Some 167 people and 72 units of equipment, including 139 employees and 60 units of equipment, including helicopter, of the State Emergency Service are involved in the operations.
