You're reading: Action in memory of activist Shyshov being held near embassy of Belarus in Kyiv

An action is taking place at the building of the Belarusian embassy in Kyiv, the participants of which gathered to honor the memory of Belarusian activist, Head of the Belarusian House in Ukraine public organization Vitaliy Shyshov.

Representatives of the Belarusian diaspora in Ukraine, Ukrainian patriotic movements, journalists and ordinary citizens are taking part in the action. Participants brought with them white-red-white flags of Belarus, photographs of Shyshov and flowers.

As reported, Shyshov went missing on August 2 in Kyiv and was found hanged on August 3 in one of Kyiv parks near his place of residence. The police have begun criminal proceedings under Article 115 of the Criminal Code (premeditated murder) and will check all versions, including the version of the murder disguised as suicide.
