A subsidy from the state budget in the amount of Hr 300.6 million was awarded to 229 agricultural producers for the reproduction of 10,020 cows in their own farms, the website of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food said.
It is clarified that until Sept. 1, the regional state administrations accepted applications for awarding subsidies for the growth in the number of cows of own reproduction for 2021. In the near future, the funds will be sent to the recipients.
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy reminded that in this area of state support for 2021, Hr 100 million is provided. At the same time, it is not specified from which sources of financing the budget of the program to support the raising of cows was tripled.
“It should also be noted that the decline in the number of cows stopped at agricultural enterprises on Sept. 1. The livestock was increased by 0.1%, or by 500 animals (there were 425,200 animals in total). Compared to the beginning of the year, the number of cows increased by 0.3% or by 1,300 animals,” the Ministry of Agrarian Policy said with the reference to the State Statistics Service.
As reported, the Cabinet of Ministers in May 2021 introduced a new direction of state support – the payment of subsidies for the increase in the number of cows of own reproduction in the amount of Hr 30,000 per animal. State support allows the owner to compensate for the costs of raising the animal while the cow cannot produce milk during the first three years of life.
