A plane with humanitarian aid for fighting against coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak has landed in the Boryspil airport, Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy reported.
“Now the Boryspil airport meets the planes with a humanitarian freight: this plane in addition to other things delivered protective equipment for 10,000 medical men, and the planes, which carry out commercial freight,” Krykliy wrote on Telegram.
The minister also said that the regular passenger air carriages would resume as soon as it will be possible.
For his part, Interior Minister of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba reported that the humanitarian cargo has arrived to Ukraine from the UAE.
“Today in Boryspil, together with the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Ukraine. H.E. Salem Ahmed Al-Kaabi and Ihor Zhovkva, I accepted ten tons of cargo to strengthen the forefront positions of our healthcare system: overalls, medical gowns, gloves, masks, shoe covers, sanitizers. This is a real defense for our doctors, whom we can take care of and support in every possible way,” he wrote on Facebook on April 10.
The minister thanked UAE for the decision to send to Ukraine a special flight with a humanitarian aid.
“This is an act not just of partners, but of true friends,” Kuleba emphasized.
As reported, another plane went to the Republic of Korea, which is to bring the next batch of special medical protective equipment to Ukraine to counter the spread of COVID-19.
