In the first half of the day, from the beginning of registration for passing the exam on the level of proficiency in the state language, almost 350 people have registered in the system, the National Commission on State Language Standards said.
“From the moment of registration 00:01 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. we had the following figures: in the examination system out of 446 possible places throughout the country, 227 places were occupied by applicants. Before the briefing, we also sampled data: 348 people,” said member of the National Commission on Standards of the State Language Olha Shevchuk-Kliuzheva at a press conference in Kyiv on July 16.
According to her, at the moment there is a problem with the number of available places and the number of applicants in big cities, but in the near future this situation will be balanced by the National Commission.
As reported, on July 16, the norm of the law “On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as a state language” came into force on the examination for the level of proficiency in the state language in accordance with the new standards developed by the National Commission on State Language Standards, which is necessary for obtaining Ukrainian citizenship, as well as for applicants for positions in government or local government.
On July 16, registration for passing the exam on the level of proficiency in the state language started in Ukraine, the exams themselves start on July 19.
