The current electoral ratings of the Servant of the People, Opposition Platform – For Life, and Batkivschyna parties in Ukraine are close to their actual results in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada on July 21, 2019, while European Solidarity currently has higher and the Holos party lower electoral support, the Razumkov Center sociological service found after conducting a public opinion poll under a contract with the Obozrevatel online publication.
If elections to the Verkhovna Rada were held next Sunday, 45.4% of the voters who are determined to vote and have decided for whom to vote would cast their ballots for Servant of the People, 13.8% for Opposition Platform – For Life, 12.3% for European Solidarity, 8% for Batkivschyna, and 5.2% for Strength and Honor.
Taking into account a theoretical margin of error, which the sociologists estimated at being within 2.3%, the Civil Position party and the Radical Party of Oleh Liashko (both supported by 2.9%) would have chances to overcome the 5% election threshold as well.
The Holos party, which garnered enough votes to have parliamentary mandates in the elections in July, would get only 2.5% of the vote now, the poll showed.
The rest of the parties would garner 2.2% or less.
“What is noteworthy is that Servant of the People is leading in terms of the people’s electoral preferences in all macro-regions. European Solidarity is the second in the western and central regions, where Batkivschyna is the third. The Opposition Platform – For Life is the second in the eastern and southern regions,” it said.
The sociologists surveyed 2,000 respondents aged 18 and older in all regions of Ukraine on Jan. 17-21.
In the elections to the Verkhovna Rada on July 21, 2019, the Servant of the People party got 43.16%, Opposition Platform – For Life 13.05%, Batkivschyna 8.18%, European Solidarity 8.1%, and Holos 5.82% of the vote on the multi-mandate constituency ballot.
