Around 40 percent of Kyiv projects, which would be implemented in the coming five or ten years, envisage comprehensive development of residential areas, Vice President of private joint-stock company Kyivmiskbud (Kyiv) Vasyl Dudurych has said.

“Large construction companies are specifically aimed at creating large residential complexes thanks to the development of the areas of former industrial zones. Therefore, it is obvious that in the next few years the trend towards an increase in the construction of comfort-class facilities will continue,” the company said in a press release on November 21, citing Dudurych.

As he explained, these facilities will mainly belong to the category of comfort-class, whose share today exceeds 45 percentof the total volume of residential construction in Kyiv.

According to Dudurych, in the coming years the development of the housing market in Kyiv will be focused on the integrated development of old industrial zones and the creation of large residential complexes in their place – from several houses to mini-towns.

As reported, Kyivmiskbud acts as an investor in the project for the construction of the Svitlo Park mini-city with a total area of 2 million square meters at 2A, Naddniprianske Highway on the border of Pechersky and Holosiyivsky districts of Kyiv.

Kyivmiskbud was set up on the basis of municipally owned construction corporation Kyivmiskbud in 1994 through the merger of controlling stakes in 28 enterprises and other assets in its charter capital. It consists of 40 companies in which the holding owns shares, along with six subsidiaries and 51 associated members.
