The Austrian authorities have canceled compulsory quarantine on arrival for citizens from 34 countries, Ukraine is not among them, according to the website of the country’s government.

“Since May 19, the Austrian authorities will cancel the ten-day quarantine for citizens from most EU countries and a number of third countries where a high level of coronavirus infection has not been recorded. One can enter from these countries for any purpose, including tourism. The new rule is being introduced in test mode until June 30,” the message said.

Meanwhile, everyone who comes to Austria must present either a certificate with a PCR test, or a document confirming the presence of antibodies to the virus (no earlier than three months), or a certificate of vaccination with drugs approved by the WHO. The document must be in German or English.

The list of the safest countries includes Andorra, Australia, Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, France, Liechtenstein, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland, South Korea, Czech Republic, Hungary and the Vatican.

“Visitors from the countries of the ‘red list’ must observe quarantine, which can be completed after the fifth day of isolation, if during this time they make a PCR test for coronavirus. The exception is vaccinated citizens or persons with a certificate for antibodies,” the authorities note.

As for Ukraine, entry to Austria is possible only in exceptional cases, for example, for work or study. Vaccinated or recovered patients do not need to comply with quarantine, only people with PCR tests. The quarantine can be ended five days after entry with a new negative test result.

Also, before traveling, one must fill out an online form at https://entry.ptc.gv.at/en.html with personal data and information about the countries visited in the last ten days, as well as details of the planned trip. One needs to fill out the questionnaire no earlier than 72 hours before the trip, passengers must update it every 28 days.
