President of Austria Alexander Van der Bellen in a phone conversation with President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has congratulated Ukraine on the adoption of the banking law.

“Thanked the Austrian Government for successful cooperation for overcoming the consequences of COVID-19. I appreciate the support of in cooperation with IFIs [international financial institutions],” Zelensky said on his Twitter page on May 13.

As reported, the Verkhovna Rada at a session on May 13 adopted the bill on banks, which is necessary for the approval of a new program with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). A total of 270 MPs at second reading voted for respective bill No. 2571-d amending some laws of Ukraine on the improvement of certain mechanisms for regulation of banking activities.
