The key condition for the upcoming fourth macro-financial assistance program of the European Union for Ukraine is the launch of automatic verification of electronic declarations, Ukrainian Finance Minister Oleksandr Danyliuk has said.

“Over a million people file declarations. People cannot cope with it, we need to come up with an automatic algorithm,” he told journalists at an investment forum organized by the Dragon Capital investment company in Kyiv on March 1.

He said that the National Agency on Corruption Prevention was currently working on this task.

“We hope that such a tool will be introduced before the beginning of May,” Danyliuk said.

He also noted that at the end of February, the European Commission preliminarily confirmed the initiation of this new macro-financial assistance program.

“Now, at this stage, the total amount of the program is 1 billion euro. We are talking about two tranches. We are still working on conditions,” he said.

According to him, this program coincides with the EFF program of the International Monetary Fund.

“It will be in effect for a year, until April 2019,” Danyliuk said.
