You're reading: Avakov agrees with ambassador to Canada to begin training rural police officers

Ukrainian Interior Minister Arsen Avakov and Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine Roman Washchuk discussed the start of training rural police officers in the next phase of the reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“We agreed with Ambassador of Ukraine to Canada Washchuk to start the next stage of the reform of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – training rural police officers – with the support of Canadian experts in the framework of the ITA [International Technical Assistance] project,” Avakov wrote on his Twitter page on March 25.

He noted that the number of Canadian coaches would be doubled, and thanked Canada for the fruitful cooperation.
