Avakov reports on detention of five persons who attacked Hrytsenko in Odesa

Interior Minister Arsen Avakov faces numerous accusations of corruption and other crimes, which he denies. However, he has kept his job and faced no charges since his appointment in February 2014, given that he is arguably the second most powerful person in the country after President Petro Poroshenko.

Law enforcement officers have identified and detained five suspects involved in the attack in Odesa on the leader of the Civil Position party, former defense minister Anatoliy Hrytsenko, and procedural decisions will be made regarding another 12 people, Interior Minister Arsen Avakov has said.

“The attack on Anatoliy Hrytsenko. Five suspects have been identified and detained by the National Police. Procedural decisions will be taken against 12 more people,” Avakov wrote on his Facebook page on Nov. 30.
