KHARKIV – Checkpoints on the border with Russia are equipped with biometric control devices and there is no need to additionally equip them if the entrance of Russian citizens using biometric passports is introduced, Head of the Eastern Regional Department of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Serhiy Bidylo has said.

“We have all checkpoints equipped with biometric control deviced,” he told reporters on Thursday.

As reported, earlier Ukraine’s National Defense and Security Council (NSDC) Secretary Oleksandr Turchynov and First Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko said that citizens of Russia should only be allowed to enter Ukraine using biometric passports.
