WASHINGTON – U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the margins of COP26 in Glasgow promised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Washington will continue to reinforce Ukraine’s energy security, including by reducing the risks posed by Nord Stream 2.
“Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today in Glasgow on the margins of COP26 (…) he underscored that, together with our allies and partners, the United States would continue to reinforce Ukrainian energy security, including by reducing the risks posed by the Nord Stream 2 pipeline,” the U.S. Department of State said in a press release.
In addition, Blinken reaffirmed the United States’ unwavering support for Ukraine’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.
The COP26 Climate Change Conference is taking place in Glasgow.
