You're reading: Boryspil Airport sees revenues fall by 86.8% in April due to lockdown

Boryspil International Airport in April 2020 received Hr 50 million in revenue, which is 86.8% less than in April 2019, the company’s press service told Interfax-Ukraine.

“In April 2019, the airport’s revenues amounted to Hr 380 million, in April 2020 they amounted to Hr 50 million. Thus, the airport loses about Hr 330 million per month,” the company’s press service said.

The airport also said that the company did not interrupt its operation activities and continues to work 24/7. Therefore, as the number of flights increases, the necessary number of employees will be gradually taken out of idle time.

“The number of employees who will return to their jobs after lockdown depends on the volume of air traffic planned by the airlines for this period. At the moment, airlines are actively creating their new schedules,” the airport said.

Boryspil International Airport also said that the increase in the number of employees involved in the work will be gradual, in accordance with the increase in air traffic intensity.
