President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has said that the fund for the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the national budget will amount to Hr 66 billion.
“Payments to doctors, who are fighting the coronavirus outbreak, will be made from this fund. Also, necessary medical equipment and personal protective equipment will be purchased. Payments to Ukrainian citizens who, unfortunately, have lost their jobs due to the quarantine. And financial aid to families of the doctors, who died of COVID-19. We want to insure lives of all medical workers engaged in the fight against coronavirus,” he said in a video message to the Ukrainian people on April 10.
Zelensky also said that almost Hr 30 billion will be allocated from the fund for Ukrainian retirees.
“In particular, for indexation of pensions and aid in amount of Hr 1,000,” he said.
