Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers is developing s developing the Military Security Strategy of Ukraine and intends to develop and implement the Defense Plan of Ukraine.
“We are developing a new state defense policy that meets Euro-Atlantic principles and approaches (in particular, the Military Security Strategy). In the course of this work, we constantly conduct a comprehensive strategic analysis of real and potential threats to national security in the military sphere and develop action plans for protecting the national interests of the state. We plan the coordinated development and achievement of certain capabilities of the defense forces, and determine the necessary criteria for the combat capability of the defense forces and their readiness to fulfill their missions,” the government plan published on the parliament’s website says.
Ukraine’s Defense Plan will be developed and put into effect. It will determine the content, volumes, performers, the procedure and timing for the implementation of political, economic, social, military, scientific, scientific, technical, informational, legal, organizational measures to protect the state.
A Comprehensive Development Program for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and individual development programs for certain types (combat arms, forces) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces and other defense forces will also be developed and implemented.
Among other things, a new system of territorial defense of Ukraine will be created with the involvement of wide layers of the population.
It is noted that the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine should get rid of unusual functions that cause corruption risks and do not ensure the efficient use of state assets.
In particular, defense lands and other assets will be taken into account, and their use will be as regulated and transparent as possible. New approaches to asset and investment management will be introduced, as well as other components of the defense forces with the necessary infrastructure.
