You're reading: Canada appoints new ambassador in Ukraine

Larysa Galazda has been appointed new ambassador of Canada to Ukraine, Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland made a respective announcement.

“Larisa Galadza becomes Ambassador to Ukraine. Ms. Galadza replaces Roman Waschuk,” reads the report posted on a website of the Canadian government.

Roman Waschuk, who previously held the post of Canadian Ambassador to Ukraine, completed his five-year cadence and retired.

Previously, Galadza became director general of the Peace and Stabilization Operations Program at Global Affairs Canada.
