A city electric train will resume its operation in Kyiv on par with the railway transport in the country, Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported.
“The city electric train will resume its work together with all railway transport of Ukraine. This foreseen in the quarantine plan developed by the government. According to this plan, from June 1, Ukraine plans to resume rail passenger transportation of urban, regional and inter-regional traffic. In the city electric train,” said the mayor during an online press conference on Tuesday.
Klitschko reminded that the capital had already resumed the work of the public transport and subway in a regular mode.
“And we will see how the situation will develop. Now the main thing is not to admit outbreak of the disease,” said the mayor.
He also reported that Kyivpastrans has ordered to repairs of the metropolitan city electric train by the Ukrzaliznytsia branch. Since the electric train belongs to Ukrzaliznytsia, and the city operates this type of transport.
“In particular, it is planned to make 48 current repairs of electric trains. And their maintenance as well. Because for many years no one was engaged in updating these trains,” Klitschko said.
