Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Krykliy has reported that he took under a personal control a course of the clean-up operation of Delfi tanker in Odesa, which will be completed by July 20 under favorable sunny weather and absence of waves.

According to the press service of the President of Ukraine, he reported this at a traditional meeting with representatives of the government and law enforcement agencies on July 11, which was chaired by President Volodymyr Zelensky.

During his working visit to Odesa region on July 4, Zelensky examined the wreckage site of the Delfi tanker.

Zelensky emphasized that the clean-up operations must be carried out in a high quality manner.

“July 20 is the landmark. If the shipowner was here, I would talk to him frankly and strictly. Because I’m sure it’s his responsibility in everything, starting with what he transported, where and for how long it all lasts. If there is no result on July 20, the law enforcement agencies must take on the case. The owner wanted to save money and looked for the least resistance. Someone must bear responsibility,” the president said.

As reported, the Moldova-flagged Delfi tanker wrecked in the gulf of Odesa on Nov. 22, 2019.
