Ukraine’s State Service of Veterans has said 354,900 participants of Donbas war have received combat veteran status.

As of January 1, 2019, according to information received by commissions charged with awarding combat veteran status to those who took part in the ATO, the status has been given to 354,977 persons,” the service said.

Soldiers with the rank of private and commanders, employees of state agencies with military units sent to the Donbas war zone total 354,797 persons.

The breakdown is as follows: Defense Ministry personnel – 241,295 persons, Interior Ministry personnel – 32,481, National Guard – 34,305, Ukraine’s SBU State Security Service – 10,979, Foreign Intelligence Service – 42, State Border Service – 19,878, State Special Transportation Service – 2,977, State Security Service – 472, State Special Communications and Information Service – 839, State Emergencies Service – 5,164, Prosecutor General’s Office – 325, National Police – 5,745, and State Fiscal Service – 885 persons.
