You're reading: Court cancels NBU decision on refusal of Reznikov to be head of Oschadbank’s supervisory board

On Dec. 24, the Administrative Court of Cassation of the Supreme Court upheld the court decisions of the first and appeal instances, declared illegal and canceled the decision of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) on refusal of Oleksiy Reznikov to be approved as head of the Oschadbank’s supervisory board, the Finclub newspaper said on Jan. 20.

It is indicated that the court partially sustained the NBU’s cassation and changed the reasoning part of the decision of the previous instances.

As reported, on August 16, 2019, after testing and interviewing, the central bank rejected the candidacies of five of the nine members of the Oschadbank’s supervisory board, including chairman of the supervisory board Sevki Acuner and members of the National Assembly Dmytro Vlasov and Oleksiy Reznikov.

However, later, on Feb. 18-19, 2020, the District Administrative Court of Kyiv City canceled this decision. Then, on May 20 and June 30, the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal rejected the NBU’s appeals, leaving in force the previous court’s ruling, which overturned the NBU’s decision not to coordinate Reznikov and Vlasov by the members of the Oschadbank’s supervisory board.
