The court has confirmed validity of bringing charges against Ukrainian MP Viktor Mialyk (For the Future group) over tax evasion in the amount of more than Hr 97 million.

The Pechersky District Court refused to satisfy the lawyer’s complaint in the interests of the MP against the prosecutor general’s decision to inform him that the MP will be prosecuted, a law enforcement source has told Interfax-Ukraine.

Earlier the Kyiv Court of Appeal considered the appeal filed by the prosecutor against the decision of the investigating judge of the Pechersky District Court of Kyiv dated April 6, and granted the appeal of the prosecutors of the Prosecutor General’s Office seeking to seize the property of the suspected MP. Some 592 real estate objects were seized, of which 32 garages, a shopping center with a multi-level garage, a car service with a cafeteria, a residential building, a garden house, 73 land plots, 47 apartments, 73 parking lots, 363 non-residential premises (offices, storerooms), and two Lexus vehicles.

As reported, in March Mialyk was informed that he will be prosecuted over tax evasion in the amount of more than Hr 97 million.
