You're reading: Court keeps Antonenko in custody until October 23

Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv has kept Andriy Antonenko in custody during the judicial inquiry on charges of involvement in the murder of Belarusian journalist Pavlo Sheremet.

According to a correspondent of Interfax-Ukraine, the court made the relevant ruling when making a decision to consider the case on the merits by the jury.

“To impose on Antonenko for the duration of the trial… pretrial restrictions in the form of detention until Oct. 23, inclusive,” the court said on August 25.

As for Yulia Kuzmenko, another accused of involvement in the murder, the court, at the time of consideration of the case on the merits, imposed pretrial restrictions in the form of round-the-clock house arrest, also until Oct. 23 inclusive.

The court also ordered Kuzmenko to arrive at the court on demand and submit documents for traveling abroad.

The third defendant in the case, Yana Duhar, according to the ruling of Shevchenkivsky District Court, was imposed pretrial restrictions in the form of bail in the amount of Hr 168,000 and additional obligations were imposed as well. The pretrial restrictions for Duhar were also imposed for the period of judicial consideration, until Oct. 23 inclusive.
