Kyiv’s Court of Appeal upheld the arrest of a defendant in the case of the murder of journalist Pavlo Sheremet Andriy Antonenko.

“The accused in the case of journalist Pavlo Sheremet was left in custody […] The panel of judges […] of Kyiv’s Court of Appeal considered the appeal filed by the defense in the interests of the accused A. [Andriy Antonenko] against the ruling of Shevchenkivsky District Court of Kyiv dated December 10, 2020, which granted the petition prosecutor and extended to accused A. The term of the measure of restraint in the form of detention is until February 7, 2021, ” Kyiv’s Court of Appeal said in a statement on the Facebook page.

“According to the results of the appeal consideration […] the preventive measure in the form of detention was upheld,” the court said.
