You're reading: Court overturns order on recovering fine from Inter TV Channel

The Kyiv District Administrative Court has confirmed the absence of violations of the law in the broadcasting of the concert “Victory. One for All” (Peremoha. Odna na Vsikh) by Inter TV Channel on May 9, 2018 and canceled the order of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council for recovering a fine of Hr 4.046 million from the channel.

According to the channel, the court declared unlawful and canceled the decision of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council on the results of an unscheduled on-site inspection of the channel and the order to pay a fine in the amount of Hr 4.046 million.

“The court noted that the application of sanctions against the TV channel was illegal, the decision to apply them was made without complying with the legitimate aim. Thus, the court established that when broadcasting the Victory Day concerts on May 9, 2018, the TV channel complied with all the norms of the law,” the press service of Inter said.
