Ukraine has registered 17,419 new cases of COVID-19 as of 9 a.m. on Nov. 6. The country has had 3 million cases since the pandemic began.
The largest numbers of new cases have been recorded in Odesa Oblast (1,664), Dnipropetrovsk Oblast (1,527), Kharkiv Oblast (1,362), Khmelnytskyi Oblast (1,114) and Lviv Oblast (1,465).
In the past 24 hours, 8,520 COVID-19 patients have recovered and 449 have died.
As of Nov. 6, 11.3 million people have received the first of two vaccine doses; 7.9 million Ukrainians are fully vaccinated.
In the last 24 hours, 85,340 people received their first dose of vaccine, while 46,066 received the second dose, completing their vaccination.
Under the adaptive quarantine strategy, Ukraine color codes its regions green, yellow, orange or red, according to the severity of the outbreak there.
Currently, 15 Ukrainian oblasts are red, six are orange and three are yellow.
Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Rivne, Odesa, Sumy, Zaporizhia, Zhytomyr, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Luhansk, Khmelnytskyi, Kyiv and Chernihiv oblasts are in the red COVID-19 restriction zone.
The city of Kyiv has entered the red quarantine zone on Nov. 1.
The red zone bans the operation of all but essential businesses and mass events unless all staff is fully vaccinated. Visitors must be fully vaccinated or have a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours.
Public transport continues to operate but passengers need to have either a negative PCR test or vaccination certificate. These documents are not checked at the entrance but selectively by groups of law enforcement officers.
The Cabinet of Ministers amended domestic travel restrictions under the adaptive yellow, orange and red zone quarantine measures.
From Oct. 21, all passengers traveling by air, bus or train between the yellow, orange and red regions must either provide a two-dose vaccine certificate, at least one dose for travel between yellow zones or a negative PCR test result.
All adults, including foreigners with a residence permit, can get vaccinated for free. They can get a shot at their local clinics or one of more than 400 mass vaccination centers throughout the country.
Kyiv has 36 such centers including the International Exhibition Center near the Livoberezhna metro station and Kyiv Boryspil International Airport. The full list is available here.
