Ukraine has registered 5,011 new cases of COVID-19 as of 9 a.m. on Jan. 10, bringing the total number of cases in the country since the start of the pandemic to 1,115,026.
In the past 24 hours, 5,292 have recovered and 99 have died.
A total of 791,598 patients have recovered and 19,767 have died in Ukraine since the beginning of the pandemic.
In the past 24 hours, Ukrainian laboratories have carried out 17,718 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests and 5,527 antibody tests. Over 5.7 million PCR tests have been conducted since the start of the pandemic.

The largest numbers of new cases have been recorded in Odesa (446), Kyiv region (405), the city of Kyiv (404), Kharkiv (344) and Mykolaiv (327) regions.
The Ministry of Healthcare imposed a lockdown from Jan. 8 through Jan. 24 when it expects the burden on the country’s hospitals to increase due to COVID-19 and flu cases. The lockdown shuts down all but essential businesses. Pharmacies, groceries, gas stations, banks, postal operators, public transport, domestic/international travel and hotels are unaffected.

On Dec. 30, the President’s Office stated that Ukraine’s Ministry of Health had signed a contract for the country to receive 1.9 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine produced by China’s Sinovac Biotech “in the shortest possible term.” Each dose will be purchased for Hr 504 (just under $18).
