Nationalists attack. Several dozen members of the Sich C-14 and Tradition and Order far-right nationalist groups late on Oct.14 attacked one of the offices of an organization headed by Viktor Medvedchuk, pro-Russian politician and a close ally of the Russian President Vladimir Putin. Medvedchuk described the attack as revenge for his political position.
Holy war. On Oct.15 the Russian Orthodox Church announced it would stop praying together with Istanbul-based Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople until it denounces its decision to lift the anathema on the bishops of the Kyiv Patriarchate and Autocephalous Orthodox Churches.
NATO reacts. During his Oct.15 meeting with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin in Brussels,NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg discussed Ukraine’s ongoing conflict with Hungary, rising tensions with Russia in the Azov Sea, and military ammo depot blasts all over the country.
Tough President Trump. In an interview with CBS News, U.S President Donald Trump blamed former U.S. President Barack Obama for allowing Russia to take part of Ukraine’s territory. Trump also described himself as the one who gave Ukraine offensive weapons and tank killing missiles, while Obama sent pillows and blankets.
