- Russian-backed militants used prohibited blinding laser weapons in eastern Ukraine, Ukrainian commanders said.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs started social media campaign #KyivnotKiev to persuade international media to drop the Russian transcription of the name of the capital and use the Ukrainian one.

- Ex-President Leonid Kuchma left the Minsk peace group, where he represented Ukraine. He said he decided to leave due to his age. Kuchma turned 80 in August.
