Munich Security Conference

* Ukraine sent a large delegation to the annual Munich Security Conference in Germany, including President Petro Poroshenko, Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin and numerous members of parliament.

* Shifting trade: Ukraine’s exports to the European Union amounted to 43 percent of external trade, compared to only about 8 percent for Russia in 2018, President Petro Poroshenko said in Munich.
* 50 years to catch up to Poland? If Ukraine does not speed up its growth, it will take Ukraine until 2069 to catch up to its western neighbor’s size, said Finance Minister Oksana Markarova. Fortunately, she said, Ukraine’s leaders believe the nation will see faster growth soon.
