You're reading: Danilov, Ambassador Kurai discuss Ukrainian-Japanese cooperation in security

Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov discussed the current state of Ukrainian-Japanese relations with the Japanese Ambassador to Ukraine Takashi Kurai.

According to the NSDC, the interlocutors, in particular, paid special attention to the issue of deepening cooperation between the security departments of the two states in the cybersecurity sector.

“The cybersecurity sector, expanding international cooperation in forecasting and identifying potential and real cyber threats is one of the most important priorities for the NSDC of Ukraine,” Danilov said.

The sides also discussed the reform of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, in particular, the reform of the Ukroboronprom state concern. In this context, Danilov said that in the process of reforming the defense industry complex for Ukraine, the key priorities remain the full corporatization of enterprises and investment raising from partner countries.

In turn, Ambassador Kurai highly appreciated the determination of the Ukrainian authorities in the imposition of the sanctions policy and stressed the invariability of Japan’s support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country.

The sides agreed to continue further consultations to deepen cooperation in the security sector.
