You're reading: Defense Council plans to equip communication points on contact lines with Donbas, Crimea

The National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) will instruct the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine to develop terms of reference for opening communication points on the contact line with the temporarily occupied separate areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions and Crimea for communication of citizens with representatives of the Ukrainian authorities.

According to NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov, one of the issues at the NSDC meeting on Oct. 22 was to ensure the constitutional rights of people living in the temporarily occupied territories and crossing the contact line at the entry exit checkpoints, on their communications with representatives of the central and local authorities Ukraine.

“It was decided to instruct the Ministry of Digital Transformation to develop a technical specification for such a product within two weeks. And in two weeks, when such a tool is considered at the NSDC meeting, it will be introduced in the near future so that people have the opportunity to communicate directly with all the authorities that exist in our country, including the president,” Danilov said at a briefing following the NSDC meeting on Oct. 22.
