The Verkhovna Rada Commissioner, Liudmyla Denisova, has appealed to her Russian counterpart Tatyana Moskalkova for helping arrange a meeting with crewmembers of the Ukrainian fishing vessel YMK-0041 detained in Russia.

“For the purpose of synchronous and mutual monitoring of the rights of the detained persons, I have appealed to the authorized representative of the Russian Federation with an urgent request: to give the members of the Ukrainian fishing vessel YMK-0041 Serhiy Kalynychenko, Ruslan Skrypnyk, Hennadiy Otichko and Oleh Blok an unhindered opportunity to arrive at the Consulate General of Ukraine in Rostov-on-Don for my meeting with them,” Denisova wrote on Facebook on June 26.

She attached a photocopy of a respective letter sent to Moskalkova.

The ombudswoman recalled that the Ukrainian side had lifted the Russian authorized representative’s entry ban as an exception, as was agreed by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin. On June 26, Moskalkova arrived in Kyiv without hindrance, where she met with seven crewmembers of the Nord ship at the Russian embassy in Ukraine.
