The Individuals’ Deposit Guarantee Fund has extended the liquidation of Ukrgazprombank for one year, until September 14, 2018, the fund reported on the website.

According to the report, the powers of liquidator of the bank Yevhen Ozhgo are prolonged for the same period.

Ukrgazprombank on April 7, 2015 was classified as insolvent in connection with the implementation of risky activities, and on August 5 the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) allowed Primestar Energy FZE (the UAE) to acquire a 100 percent stake in Ukrgazprombank.

The new owner had to restore the solvency and liquidity of Ukrgazprombank within a month after signing the contract. However, on September 14 the NBU at the suggestion of the Individuals’ Deposit Guarantee Fund decided to revoke the banking license and liquidate Ukrgazprombank in connection with the failure of the new shareholder to capitalize the bank on time.

In early October it became known that the Kyiv Economic Court on the suit of Primestar Energy FZE forbade the NBU to liquidate Ukrgazprombank.
