Dnipropetrovsk regional commission in charge of responding to man-made disasters, emergencies, and environmental safety had an urgent meeting on March 20 and decided to introduce a state of emergency in the region, the press service for the regional state administration said.

“Dnipropetrovsk region is introducing a state of emergency in order to ensure the maximum protection of the people from the coronavirus infection. We are increasing control by law enforcement. We will rigorously monitor compliance with quarantine, which residents of the region must follow in a disciplined fashion,” Head of Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration Oleksandr Bondarenko was quoted by the press service as saying.
