President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed most of the Cabinet of Ministers this week, announcing that he was unhappy with their performance and the pace of reforms. Prime Minister Oleksiy Honcharuk was forced to resign after just six months in office, being replaced by businessman and former Ivano-Frankivsk Governor Denys Shmygal.
Reformers, investors and international partners reacted to the reshuffle with alarm, warning that the move could derail reforms and play into the hands of oligarchs.
