You're reading: Draft state budget-2021 proposes to raise expenses on prosecutors, cut on education

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine proposes in the draft state budget for 2021 by the second reading to increase the expenses on the Prosecutor General’s Office by Hr 2 billion and reduce the expenses on the Ministry of Education and Science by Hr 4 billion, compared to the previous version.

In particular, in the draft state budget for 2021 by the second reading, the Cabinet of Ministers proposes to increase the expenses on the Prosecutor General’s Office in comparison with the draft state budget for the first reading by Hr 2.034 billion. Also, among other things, it is proposed to increase expenses: on the Ministry of Internal Affairs by Hr 797.4 million, on the State Consumer Service by Hr 538.1 million, on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by Hr 498.2 million, on the Health Ministry by Hr 3.946 billion, on the Energy Ministry by Hr 350 million, on the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources by Hr 491.1 million, on the Ministry of Infrastructure by Hr 2.405 million, on the Ministry of Youth and Sports by Hr 427.3 million, on the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy by Hr 1.146 billion and on the State Space Agency by Hr 549.5 million.

At the same time, the government proposes to reduce by Hr 130 million expenses on the State Management of Affairs by Hr 1.129 billion – on state capital expenses for the development and implementation of investment projects, on the Ministry of Education and Science by Hr 4.097 billion, on the Pension Fund the by Hr 8.5 billion and on the State Regional Development Fund by 4.86 billion.

As reported, by the second reading, the deficit in the draft state budget for 2021 was reduced from 6% to 5.5% of GDP, by Hr 24 billion, to Hr 246.35 billion. In the initial draft, the state budget revenues were determined at the level of Hr 1.071 trillion, expenses at Hr 1.331 trillion. The new version of the draft state budget provides for Hr 1.092 trillion of revenues and Hr 1.328 trillion of expenses.
