The draft state budget for 2022 provides for a reduction in funding for the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy by 21.7%, or Hr 2.949 billion compared to 2021.
According to the draft law No. 6000 of Sept. 15, out of Hr 10.634 billion of the proposed funding, it is proposed to allocate Hr 129 million for leadership and management in the field of culture and information policy, Hr 1,4 billion for training of personnel for the sphere of culture and art by vocational institutions before higher and higher education.
Some Hr 50 million is planned to be allocated for the protection of the national information space, Hr 1.6 billion for financial support of national theaters, Hr 703 million for the functioning of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation, including project support, for the activities of national museums, national and state libraries and cultural-educational centers – Hr 1.1 billion and for the provision of financial support to the state enterprise Crimean House – Hr 4.8 million.
It is also proposed to allocate Hr 152.5 million to support the activities of the Ukrainian Book Institute, support book publishing and popularize Ukrainian literature in the world, Hr 1.9 billion to the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine, Hr 17,3 billion to the State Service of Ukraine for Ethnopolitics and Freedom of Conscience, Hr 20.1 million to the State Agency of Ukraine for Arts and Art Education, to the State Film Agency – Hr 694.2 million, Hr 13.8 million – to the State Inspectorate for Cultural Heritage of Ukraine, Hr 19.4 million to the State Service for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Ukraine, and Hr 167.3 million to the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance.
In addition, it is planned to allocate Hr 100 million in subventions to local budgets.
As reported, on Sept. 15, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved and sent to the Verkhovna Rada a draft state budget for 2022.
