The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will provide state-owned Oschadbank (Kyiv) with an up to four-year amortizing senior unsecured loan of up to 25 million euros equivalent for on-lending to eligible micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) under SME Competitiveness Programme in the European Union’s (EU) Eastern Partnership.

According to an EBRD report published on June 8, the decision was made by the bank’s board of directors on June 8.

At least 70% of all financed sub-loans are expected to be compliant with EBRD Green Economy Transition (GET) approach.

According to the EBRD, MSME sub-borrowers will benefit from financial incentives (up to 15% of the lower the sub-loan disbursed amount or investment cost) for eligible sub-projects, while the bank will receive technical assistance from dedicated consultants towards investment projects preparation and implementation.

Oschadbank was founded in 1991. Its sole owner is the state. According to the statistics of the National Bank, as of March 1, 2021, Oschadbank ranked second in terms of total assets (Hr 279.702 billion) among 73 banks operating in the country.
