The Ministry for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine has approved the distribution of budgetary funds to provide a special budgetary subsidy for existing bee colonies in the amount of Hr 239.4 million for almost 1.2 million bee colonies.

According to a report on the ministry’s website, more than 23,400 beekeepers will receive support in the near future, of which 209 are private entrepreneurs and family farms. In particular, the largest amount of subsidies will be received by beekeepers of Vinnytsia (Hr 23.1 million), Kirovohrad (Hr 19.4 million), Odesa (Hr 15.9 million), Khmelnytsky (Hr 13.3 million), Ivano-Frankivsk (Hr 12.8 million), Sumy (Hr 12.3 million), Mykolaiv (Hr 12.2 million) and Cherkasy (Hr 12 million) regions.

“The government will continue supporting the beekeeping industry in the future. In particular, when drawing up documents for receiving subsidies for producers, most often questions arose related to the registration procedure for apiaries and on specifying the data on the number of bee colonies. The Ministry of Economy is interested in everyone who wants to receive subsidies, therefore, we are interested to hear the opinions of associations and make appropriate adjustments to this area of support for 2021,” Deputy Minister of Economy Taras Vysotsky said.
