The Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, along with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and with the participation of international partners from the SeeD Center, developed an interactive guide “School amid Pandemic” for leadership and teams of general secondary and vocational education institutions.

“This online tool will help leaders and educators assess an institution’s readiness to meet the challenges of COVID-19. The guidance, advice, and insights included in the guide will help institutions effectively deliver quality and inclusive continuous education in times of crisis while maintaining the safety and health of students,” the ministry’s press service said.

It is noted that the manual was created by international experts, taking into account the existing internal recommendations and using materials from UNICEF, WHO, and other international organizations.

“The global pandemic has exacerbated social inequalities and thus made it more difficult for vulnerable groups of children around the world to access quality education services. Therefore, the development of the guidelines paid special attention to creating a safe educational environment and ensuring equitable access to quality inclusive education for every child,” the ministry said.

In addition, the guide also provides for a thematic survey of leaders and educators about the work of institutions amid pandemic.
