Emergency and child dental care will be provided in Ukraine, using national budget funds via the National Health Service of Ukraine, Deputy Health Minister Pavlo Kovtonyuk has said.

“We classify dental care as a specialized outpatient medical care without a family doctor’s referral. Medical services without a referral will be paid, but dental care will be paid by the National Health Service if it is urgent or it is provided for children,” he said at the “First Results of Medical Reform: Experience of the Regions ” seminar at the Public Health international exhibition in Kyiv.

As reported, the primary healthcare institutions which have switched to a new mechanism for financing services after the first stage of signing agreements with the National Health Service of Ukraine received Hr 819.8 million in July-September 2018.

The campaign to select doctors of primary healthcare entitled “Doctor for Each Family” in the context of the healthcare reform was rolled out in Ukraine on April 2.
